We are delighted to share the news that Mrs Cross (our School Librarian and Year...
Year 5 is an exciting year where the children are involved in engaging and challenging activities.
We encourage them to take more responsibility for their learning by developing their independence and resilience.
We also ensure that they have opportunities to work with others, focusing on team work and communication skills.
Reading for pleasure is at the heart of Year 5. The children are immersed in books through regular book talk sessions, accessing high quality and well-matched books from a well-stocked classroom book corner and access to the school library
This year, we explore different time periods to answer key questions about the past. We have a visit from a Viking and we delve into the lives of the Greeks.
The children enjoy taking their learning outside of the classroom, using our school environment and visiting Beaumanor Hall as part of their World War 2 topic.
Our planning provides diverse opportunities for the children to succeed and develop their creativity.
We are so proud of what the children achieve by the end of the year, and we ensure they are ready for their last year at our school.
